Underneath a competition there are teams, players and, optionally, an organization that groups several competitions under one umbrella.
Teams and players
Rosters with name, number and position per player, ready to use in match reports and statistics.
Individual and pair participants
In sports without teams (chess, Go, padel, tennis) sign-up is per player or per pair, not per roster. You can register a single player, paste a list of several names at once, or — specific to Go — paste a list of PINs from the European Go Database: each recognized player is filled in automatically with their official name, rank, country and club.
Join requests with approval
Besides registering participants by hand, the organizer can require manual approval for new sign-ups: anyone wanting to join (team, player or pair) sends a request that stays pending until the organizer accepts or rejects it, with an optional reason. The requester themselves can cancel it while it's still pending.
Linking to an account
A participant or referee registered as a guest (without an account) can later be linked to a real user of the platform by email, so that from then on they can log in with their own account and act on their own behalf — reporting their own results, for example.
Organizations and collaborators
An organization groups teams, venues and referees shared across several competitions, with invited collaborators who help manage it without being the original creator.
Referees
Every match can have a referee assigned, either by hand or automatically when the schedule is generated, with a history of the matches they've refereed.
